Hot Summer, Hot Color!

Hey girls,

I know I haven't updated in such a long time but I've been a little too busy with school and work. No summer vacay for me :( I finally have a chance to post on the blog even though this is a short post. Just wanted to share what color I'm currently wearing on my nails. 

Nail Polish : Santa Fe Mauve from Essie.

The color looks kind of muted in the picture but it is actually a lot brighter in person. 

Just came back from a 4 day weekend in Montreal and picked up a few items from there. A haul/review of the items will soon follow!

Where has DiWi been?

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've just been really caught up with work and just going out in general. Waking up so early in the morning = no mood to take OOTD. As for the FOTD, my makeup has pretty much just been eyeliner and mascara, nothing exciting. My workplace is pretty conservative so that also means no bright, fun, summer polishes. :( I know I know, that doesn't excuse my lack of posts. 

I've decided to just update you all with tids and bits from my life as of late. No particular theme, just random stuff. 

It's been getting really hot (and humid >_<) here in NYC, but I don't really mind. Being in the office all day has made me really sensitive to bright light, haha like a vampire! So of course, during the weekends I need to go out, even if it's just for a stroll.

Last weekend I went kite flying with my boyfriend and soon ended up playing frisbee.

Here is a picture of the sandals I wore and also the orange polish from the Icing set in the previous post. The formula is really similar to that of China Glaze. Thick but goes on smooth. The colors are also really opaque so one coat may be sufficient.

I've also been doing a lot of shopping lately. This means more OOTD pics to come! But I just wanted to show a picture of these cute key accessories the bf bought from Urban Outfitters. I love pandas and penguins so these were perfect.

Andddd, totally random, but I recently got frogs! They are in a self sustaining ecosystem, which means no cleaning or water changing necessary. All you have to do is feed them twice a week. Each ecosystem comes with two frogs and can be purchased from Brookstone.

Cuteee, right? Haven't thought of names for them yet, but there's one boy and one girl. Any suggestions?

I've also been thinking about cutting my hair, or at least getting a trim. I still want long hair but I just feel like my layers are growing out and weighing the rest of the hair down, aka no volume. What should I do? Should I get bangs (side fringes) as well?

Saturdayyyyyyy (Pic Heavy)

My boyfriend is finally back from school so we decided to chill today. We went to Mitsuwa and a few other places afterwards. Overall just a relaxing and fun day. Didn't rain at all, even though it was supposed to, and it was nice and warm. Too lazy to write too much so I'll just post up the pics from today. =)

Icing by Claires nail polish. This was on sale for $10, which I thought was a pretty good deal. Haven't tested out the formula yet, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to give these cute colors a shot. Most likely will be going on my toes for the summer since I can only do office appropriate colors for now.

I got this as a surprise today.

My boyfriend knew I wanted some China Glaze polishes but had no luck finding them in NY, closest I can go is NJ for these lol. He found a place for these near his school (turned out to be a Sally's lol) and picked this up for me because of the name...

Love letters! So it's like he's giving me love letters haha <3

Organizing Lippies and OOTDx2

While I was eating Swedish Fish and Sour Patch the other day, I realized I needed a better way to store my lippies. Better way, meaning that I can actually see the names of the lipsticks. This mainly applies to Mac since I have multiple ones from them. I decided to get creative and used the candy boxes to create a grid like framework that was then inserted into the drawer in which I store my lippies.

Here is the end result:

As promised, here's a swatch of the slimshine I bought last weekend.

It's really smooth and moisturizing but after the color wears off, the sparkles still remain on the lips, much like Viva Glam V. I'm not sure if that's a plus or not but I'm not a huge fan of the just sparkles on the lip look.

Next up was my outfit from the weekend. It was really hot so here's what I wore:

Finally updating! I have to catch up on my blog reading. I've just been enjoying summer and going out. I've also been forgetting to take my OOTD pictures lol.

Here's some stuff that I bought recently. Mad damage >_<

Ring from F21. This is still a bit loose on me even thought I got it in the smallest size (6). It doesn't fall off though so it's all good.  :) I actually saw one that said LOVE but I didn't buy it and when I went back it was sold out!!



New shades from Ferragamo. LOVE THEM. It looks different from other shades on the market and kinda has that futuristic look to them. They're so sleek but also really fragile since it's frameless.

I picked this up at the CCO. I thought I would've bought more since I've never been there before but this was the only thing I would actually use. I didn't want to swatch this yet so maybe I'll wear it in a future post or something. ;p

This was love at first swatch. I actually like putting this on top of my faded viva glam gaga.

Finally picked up some NYX lippies after much raves!! There were more but I think I'll save them for a future giveaway or something.
